Iva Suhadolnik Gregorin: va bene!

Fotozin “va bene!” je posledica jesenskega izleta na vzhod Sicilije. Je pet dni Catanie in njene okolice, strnjenih v hitro publikacijo. Fotografije ne nosije neke posebne teže, so točno to, kar so, nič več in nič manj. Zin je spontano nastal ob povratku v Ljubljano. Je nabor fotografij, ki so avtorici izjemno pri srcu in ki so opomin, kako odlično dolgih je lahko le pet dni.
Iva Suhadolnik Gregorin obiskuje 2. letnik Akademije za vizualno umetnost v Ljubljani, pred tem pa je tri leta študirala na Fakulteti za arhitekturo. Njeno področje zanimanja zajema analogno fotografijo, performans, naivno ilustracijo in video. Samostojno je razstavljala v Soteski 8 in ateljeju Volja. S kolektivom IDWID je bila del plesno-vizualne predstave “Dimenzije stika” v Plesnem teatru Ljubljana. Njena fotografija se giblje med čustveno, družbenokritično, dokumentarno, ulično in abstraktno. Fotografski projekt velikokrat poveže s performansom, kjer je fotografija sama le končni produkt. V svojih projektih raziskuje medsebojne odnose, razmerja moči, vpliv patriarhata in spolne binarnosti, okupacijo skupnega/javnega prostora ter vse, kar se giblje vmes. Njen bolj neformalni fokus pa se vrti okoli dokumentacije vsakdana.
Posebna zahvala gre Petru Fettichu in ateljeju Kela.

The photozine “va bene!” is the result of an autumn trip to eastern Sicily. It is five days of Catania and its surroundings, condensed into a quick publication. The photos do not carry any special weight, they are exactly what they are, nothing more and nothing less. The zine was made spontaneously upon returning to Ljubljana. It is a selection of photographs that are extremely dear to the author and that are a reminder of how perfectly long only five days can be.
Iva Suhadolnik Gregorin is a sophomore at the Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana, having previously studied at the Faculty of Architecture for three years. Her areas of interest include analog photography, performance, naive illustration and video. She has held solo exhibitions at Soteska 8 and the Volja studio. With the IDWID collective, she was part of the dance-visual performance “Dimensions of Contact” at the Dance Theatre Ljubljana. Her photography shifts between the emotional, socially critical, documentary, street and abstract. She often associates a photographic project with a performance, with the photograph itself being only the end product. In her projects, she explores interpersonal relationships, power relations, the influence of the patriarchy and the gender binary, the occupation of common/public space, and everything in between. Her more informal focus, however, revolves around documenting the everyday.
