A back to basics workshop about synth building and modular synthesis!
➤For the first Modul@rnice workshop of the new season, we are going back to basics! Join a two-day workshop with sound artist JacqNoise at MENT festival where you can learn to solder a synth and refresh your knowledge on modular synthesis.

The workshop will cover:
1. What are synthesisers?
2. How and where to start with modular synthesisers? Hardware vs software & the infinity of DIY.
3. Making a patch with the Eurorack system.
REGISTRATION
You do not need to have any prior knowledge or skills to attend the workshop, just a desire to learn and mess around with electronics – newbies are welcome! The number of participants is limited; please apply at rea@projekt-atol.si and specifically state which kits you would like to build.
The price for the kit is 60€ – all participants will receive an email regarding the payment process. The workshop will be held in English.
ABOUT THE MENTOR
JacqNoise is a sound artist specializing in the use of live modular synthesis. In her artistic expression, she seeks ways to blend different rhythms with each other, with a special focus on natural rhythmic sounds. She deconstructs sounds to understand the idea of symphony and the themes reflected in it. She collaborates with a variety of musicians and dancers and is an education ambassador to Erica Synths, a manufacturer of modular synthesizers. Recently, she has delved into hardware interfaces that support algorithms and are based on chaos. She has collaborated with many festivals, such as Post-Loop Bangkok, Garage, MEFF Italy and the Berlin Superbooth fair.

Začetniška delavnica o gradnji sintetizatorjev in modularni sintezi!
➤Na prvi letošnji delavnici iz serije Modul@rnice se vračamo k osnovam! Pridružite se nam na dvodnevni delavnici z zvočno umetnico JacqNoise na festivalu MENT, kjer se lahko naučite spajkati sintetizator in osvežite svoje znanje o modularni sintezi.

Delavnica bo zajemala:
1. Kaj so sintetizatorji?
2. Kako in kje začeti z modularnimi sintetizatorji? Strojna oprema proti programski opremi in neskončne možnosti naredi-sam pristopa.
3. Izdelava “patcha” s sistemom Eurorack.
Prijava:
Za udeležbo na delavnici ne potrebujete nobenega predznanja ali spretnosti, le željo po učenju in zabavanju z elektroniko – novinci dobrodošli! Število udeležencev je omejeno; prijavite se na rea@projekt-atol.si in natančno javite, katere komplete želite izdelati.
Cena kompleta je 60€ – vsi udeleženci bodo prejeli elektronsko sporočilo o postopku plačila. Delavnica bo potekala v angleškem jeziku.
O MENTORICI:
JacqNoise je zvočna umetnica, ki se osredotoča na rabo žive modularne sinteze. V svojem umetniškem izrazu išče načine, kako med seboj križati različne ritme, s posebnim fokusom na ritmičnih zvokih narave. Zvoke razgrajuje in ponovno sestavlja, da bi bolje razumela idejo simfonije in teme, ki se v njej odražajo. Sodeluje z različnimi glasbeniki ter plesalci in je ambasadorka izobraževanja pri proizvajalcu modularnih sintetizatorjev Erica Snyths. Zadnje čase se posveča strojnim vmesnikom, ki podpirajo algoritme in temeljijo na kaosu. Sodelovala je že s številnimi festivali, kot so Post-Loop Bangkok, Garage, MEFF Italy in berlinski sejem Superbooth.
