Odprtje razstave Foto/grafika bo v petek, 1. aprila, ob 13. uri.
Razstava bo na ogled od 2.4.2022–19.6.2022.
Ob koncu šestdesetih let minulega stoletja so se v grafičnih in grafičnooblikovalskih podobah ob ustaljenih likovnih elementih začeli pojavljati inserti fotografskega značaja. Projekt Foto/grafika, ki ga sestavljata razstava in monografija, skuša osvetliti pojav fotografske podobe in fotografskega razmišljanja v grafiki in grafičnem oblikovanju.

Photo/Print: The Role of Photography in 1970s Printmaking and Graphic Design
Opening of the exhibition Photo/Print, on Friday, 1 April 2022, at 1 pm, at the International Centre of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana.
The exhibition is on view from 1.4.2022–19.6.2022.
At the end of the 1960s, photographic inserts began appearing in graphic prints and graphic design images alongside established visual elements. The use of partial or entire photographs soon became a popular expressive procedure, which we can trace throughout the 1970s and beyond. Comprising an exhibition and monograph, the project Photo/Print attempts to highlight this phenomenon of photographic images and photographic thinking in printmaking and graphic design. We are interested in which social, technical and conceptual innovations prompted it and how – given the different artistic movements and contexts – the photographically marked print changed in a fairly short period of just over a decade from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.The exhibition will include documentary and exhibition components, with works by over 40 artists on display. Alongside the exhibition, we will also publish a comprehensive monograph, which among other things, will place Slovenian production into the wider regional context.
The exhibition is curated by Gregor Dražil and Lucija Šutej.
