In the basement of the Princely Palace (Knežji dvor), and under the castle courtyards measuring approximately 1000 square metres, is located the biggest exhibition ground with preserved in-situ remains of antique Celeia.
Incredible monumental artefacts dating back almost 2000 years are supplemented with textual and visual descriptions. Visitors can see a macadam road from the 1st century, and a paved city street with pavement from the 3rd century that were once part of the city decumanus – i.e. Decumanus Maximus, the main city street which ran from east to west. Along the road, there are exhibited rooms from two wealthy Roman town houses. Due to its dimensions, the late-Roman wall with western city gate towers from the middle of the 4th century is particularly prominent. In addition to the Roman remains, the exhibition also includes a part of the basement of the palace of the Counts of Celje from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Kaj je piškotek? Skoraj vsako spletno mesto uporablja tehnologijo piškotkov.
